Meet Chef Esther

Metheq Cuisine began with Chef Esther, a Nigerian culinary artist with a lifelong love for the flavours of her homeland. She and her husband chose the name Metheq, from the Hebrew word for sweetness, as a promise about what every plate should deliver.

Esther was born and raised in Nigeria, where every meal told a story of heritage, community and tradition. She trained in culinary schools at home, sharpened her craft in professional kitchens, and grew a deep respect for authentic Nigerian cooking along the way.

Today, Metheq Cuisine cooks for the moments that matter: weddings, corporate gatherings, private dinners and family celebrations across Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo and Southern Ontario. Alongside event catering, we bake fresh pastries, prepare homemade bowls and trays, and run weekly meal prep for busy households. The mission is simple: bring the rich flavours of Nigeria to more Canadian tables, and make Metheq a name people trust for quality and authenticity.
